Homework Routine
Homework allows pupils to carry over and build on knowledge gained in school that day.
Written homework, reading, learning are of equal importance.
It is advised that homework be completed early in the evening before pupils tire.
Some pupils prefer to have a short break when they return from school before commencing their homework.
The following is an approximate guide for the length of time pupils should spend at their homework.
2nd class - 30 mins 3rd class - 30 - 40 mins
4th class - 40 - 50 mins 5th class - 50 - 60 mins
6th class - 60- 80 mins
The Homework Journal is a vital communication tool between parent / guardian and teacher and should be signed nightly.
